The Kaohsiung American School professional faculty consists of eight (8) elementary teachers, fifteen (15) secondary subject teachers and five (5) specialist teachers plus a secondary school coordinator, counselor, assistant director, and a director. In addition KAS assigns six (6) teaching assistants to the early elementary classes and an assistant for technology support and library support.

The full-time staff is very diverse with: 44% North American; 42% Asian; 4% European; 4% United Kingdom; and 6% Other. The combined educational experience of the faculty is an average of ten+ years of teaching, with the majority of these years spent within an international school environment.

The faculty is also well-educated, having received the following degrees: 3 Doctorates; 15 Masters Degrees (with advanced studies); and 11 Bachelors Degrees (multiple certifications).

The staff has been quite stable with new staff members added primarily as the school grows. The average faculty tenure at KAS has been increasing to over 4 years with some faculty members nearing their tenth anniversary.
