Dear Former KAS
Students,
Greetings from each of us at the Kaohsiung American School!
This school year we have embarked on beginning a Kaohsiung American
School Alumni Association.
Presently we are accumulating the names and e-mail addresses of former
KAS students which are being entered into a database of graduates or
others who attended KAS at some point in time.
The Kaohsiung American School has grown and developed considerably during
recent years. In addition to moving into a remodeled facility during
January 2004, we have undergone significant growth in our academic and
extracurricular programs. Our enrollment has increased as well and we
are approaching 330 students in our PreK-grade 12 school!
Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that the Western Association
of Schools and Colleges in California, USA has granted our school reaccreditation
through 2013!
It is requested that interested former KAS students send an e-mail to
Ms. Rachel Chen, our secondary school secretary (rchen@kas.kh.edu.tw).
Please include your name, telephone no., address, information about
what you're currently doing, the dates you attended KAS, and the year
of graduation (if you graduated from KAS). Also indicate if you are willing
to assist us in organizing our alumni association development project.
In the near future it is our desire to formally begin this Kaohsiung
American School Alumni Association. We seek the enthusiastic support
and willingness of several of you who will be interested in assisting
us to take on this organizational initiative and sustaining it during
the years ahead.
There are tentative plans to hold an informal alumni dinner here in
Kaohsiung in early June. Many of your former teachers are still at KAS
and will be present to renew acquaintances and welcome you back to your
old school!
As we personally meet many former KAS students from time to time either
on campus, in the greater Kaohsiung community or elsewhere, the special
connection with KAS remains and we now seek to formalize your return
to the KAS family via this alumni effort.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Peter Nanos
Director
